We are going into the hottest stretch of weather this summer!
Unlike last summer when hot temperatures disappeared after June, we have managed to keep things toasty this time around. June ranked as sixth hottest in Springfield and other stations in the area ranked even higher.
Today will mark our thirtieth day of ninety-degree high temperatures this summer.
Through Wednesday, we should have the hottest temperatures of the season with upper nineties possible on both Tuesday and Wednesday, rivaling some of the temperatures we experienced just about two years ago to the day in early August 2008.
A heat advisory is in effect. As always, the danger in excessive heat is when your body cannot regulate its own temperature. You can read about the risks in summer heat here.
